Overview
Microsoft Access is a powerful database program used by businesses and individuals alike. Access is used to track and report financial data, employee information and even househould assets. The flexibility of Access allows use in multi-user offices and single person household. Although Access is often used for serious business it can also be used for fun. A particular fun way to use Access is to track nutrition, diet and exercise habits for weight management.
Step 1
Go to "Start", "Programs", "Microsoft Office", "Microsoft Access" or if Access has been used recently go to "Start", "Microsoft Access".

Click on "Personal" in the Getting Started window.

Double-click the "Nutrition" database. This is a template created by Microsoft Access and is ready to use.

Click on "Download" to download the "Nutrition" database to your desktop. Once it has downloaded, the database automatically opens.

Click on the "Enter my weight" option.

Enter the weight then click on "OK". In this case, "206.4" was entered for the weight.

Click on "Food Diary". This is the place where all the foods eaten can be entered.

Select "Alfalfa seeds, sprouted, raw". The carbs, fat and other nutritional information will automatically populate. Select the "Meal" when this was consumed then Click "Close."

Step 9
Place the cursor over the "Calorie Distribution" pie chart to see the distribution of protein, fat and carb calories.

Step 10
Click on "Exercise Diary" to enter the physical activity for the day.
Step 11
Select the Category of exercise and enter the details of that activity then click "Close."
Step 12
Look under "Calories Burnt" to see the exercise information that was entered.
Step 13
Click on "Chart my weight and calorie."
Step 14
View the "Calorie Consumption Chart" that displays the calorie intake in comparison to the weight. Click on the "Today at a Glance" tab to return to the main menu.
